IPGA Annual General Meeting cum Annual Conference on "New Horizons in Pharma Sector -Opportunities & Challenges", at Patna, Bihar

The Annual Conference / AGM of IPGA Bihar state Branch was inaugurated on 25.06.2016 at Seminar hall of 'BiharChamber of commerce & Industries, Patna' by Chief Guest Sri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, hon'ble Speaker Bihar Vidhan Sabha and the Guest of honours Dr. G.N. Singh, Drugs Controller (General) of India by Lighting the Lamp. President IPGA Bihar State Branch Sri Binod Kumar, welcome the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, President IPGA Sri Atul Nasa, all the CEC members, Office bearers of IPGA Bengal Branch, IPGA Jharkhand Branch, Other guests, Pharmacy Students and Delegates attending the conferencde. He emphasized the need to double the posts of Pharmacists in the State and tomake the post of Pharmacist Gazetted one so that the ailing people may get better & proper health Care services and the Pharmacists may be made responsible. General Secretary, IPGA Bihar State Branch, Sri S. P. Singh in his introductory speech welcome the guests and said t h at P h a r m a co v i g i l e n c e , A D R reporting, Medical Writing and Pharmacy practice (Pharmacy Practice Regulations – 2015) are some of the emerging New Horizons in Pharma Sector which are giving good job opportunities to the Pharmacy Graduates coming out of the institutions. Students should make themselves capable to grab the opportunities. Sri Singh requested the Chief Guest Sri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary sir to help the pharmacy Graduates and the Pharmacists by considering the demands of IPGA Bihar State Branch regarding (i) Strengthening of the Government Drug Testing Lab by appointing Govt. Analyst and 12 assistant Analysts. Pharmacy students may also be allowed to get training here. The govt. Drug Testing Labs should be at all the Divisional H.Q. (ii) Cadre rule must be implemented soon in practice in DCA, Long time pending promotions should be given and all the vacant posts of drug Inspectors should be done for effective implementation of Drug & Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules 1945 and any violation may be checked. (iii) Keeping in view the huge increase in no. of patients, the number of posts of Pharmacists may be increased to double and Pharmacists may be posted at even additional & sub PHCs. (iv) M. Pharm. & Pharm. D. Courses should be started at GPI and the PCI approval of Department of Pharmacy, MIT Muzaffarpur must be restored. (v) Pharmaceutical Industries should be included in the “THRUST AREA” of Industrial Policy of Bihar Govt. and all the listed incentives should be given so that new Pharma Industries may come in the State. President IPGA Sri Atul Nasa welcome the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, large number of Delegates attending theSeminar and appreciated the Bihar State branch for organizing such a big, disciplined and informative seminar which certainly will enrich the knowledge of members of the Association particularly new comers.
