The world congress was held at Seoul- South Korea from 10th to 14th September 2017. It was attended by about 3000 participants from different countries of the world. From India it was attended by about 25 delegates only and the major strength of800 delegates were from Korea. Congress was well organized and the delegates experienced the warm Korean hospitality. The host were FIP, KPA (Korean Pharmaceutical Association), PSK (Pharmaceutical Society of Korea). VENUE The venue was COEX –Convention and Exhibition Centre. The inauguration hall, exhibition hall, lecture halls, registration etc were all placed side by side in an elegant air conditioned venue. The basement of this venue has the biggest mall of Asia. The main attraction here was Fish Aquarium. SESSIONS There was Plenary Opening session on the theme ‘Medicines and beyond! The Soul of Pharmacy. The other important lectures were on # INN –International non-proprietary names system adopted by WHO in 1950. There are about 7000 INN and increasing every year. This helps in identifying the products universally. # Caring and counseling of old patients. # Discussion on TELEPHARMACY & TELEMEDICINES. Here medical treatment and medication counseling can be done face to face. # There were lectures on the natural products and their responsible use, quality and the regulations on them. # Lectures on shortage and counterfeit medicines , antimicrobial resistance and many other important topics were delivered. It was organized in a large hall in the venue. NEXT CONGRESS The next 78, FIP WORLD CONGRESS will take place in Glasgow, England from September 2nd to 6th___________. COMMENTS There was nothing new in the conference but it was a well managed congress. ‘Evaluation form for the session’ to be filled by the delegates is attached. This feed back was very important for FIP as topics of delegates interest can be chosen for the next congress. So there was a lucky draw of these fed backs for free registration of next congress at Glasgow. There was a FIP PHOTO ZONE where participants from different countries could do commemorative photography with volunteers dressed in Korean dress. A good idea for IPC in Delhi in 2018.
