The Pharmacy Practice Division of IPGA organized a healthcare Camp on “Diabetes – Screening and Care” in association with IPEX Vaish Samaj, I P Ext. Delhi and Agrasen Co-op Group Housing, Delhi on Sunday, 11th June, 2017 at Agrasen Awas, I P Ext. Delhi. The registration for the camp started at 8:00 AM and the tests started at 8:30 AM. The following activities / tests were performed during the camp. 1- Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) by Spirometer 2- HbA1C tests 3- Random Blood Sugar 4- Blood Pressure measurement 5- Height, weight measurement 6- Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Fat Analysis 7- Bone Mineral Density (BMD) 8- Public lectures All these tests / activities were done free of cost. The formal inauguration function started at 9:00 AM. The Chief Guest for the session was Shri O P Sharma, MLA of the area. Inaugural session was presided by Sh. Atul Kr Nasa, President, IPGA and co – chaired by Sh. Pradeep Gupta, President, IPEX Vaish Samaj. The Guests of Honor for the event were Sh Baldev Gupta, Trustee, Laxman Dass Charitable Trust, Smt Aparna Goel, Councilor, EDMC, Smt Shashi Chandana, Councilor, EDMC, Smt Babita Khanna, Councilor, EDMC, and Sh Romesh Gupta, Councilor, EDMC. The other invitees present were Dr. V K Dhir, Senior Dermatologist, Mr P K Jaggi, Chief Pharmacy Executive, DSCI and Mr Neeraj Aggarwal, Gen. Sec, Agrasen Awas. The welcome address was delivered by Mr Atul Kr Nasa, President, IPGA. The chief guest Sh O P Sharma requested to conduct this type of camp for under privileged people of society. The main Speaker for the event was Dr. Ashok Grover, Senior Consulting Physician, Max Super Specialty Hospital, Vaishali. He educated the people about the prevention and management of complications of Diabetes. Dr. Adarsh Verma spoke about oral hygiene. Dr. Vijay Bhalla, Director, SGT College of Pharmacy, Dr. Arun Garg, Dean Pharmacy, KR Mangalam University, and Mr. Kulbhushan Gupta, Sr. consultant, Pharmacy Practice put their valuable suggestions for effective management of Diabetes. They also translated the importance of pharmacists for effective management of various diseases / disorders, compliance to the medication to get desired results, proper storage of medicines etc. More than 150 people from society, IPGA, IPGA student form volunteers, volunteers from KR Mangalam University, sponsors, and others attended this healthcare camp. All the people were greatly benefited. They got their tests done free of cost and got the required information for prevention and effective management of their disease / disorders. Their all questions were answered by our team. This event was concluded by presenting the mementos to all our guests, speakers and sponsors / associates. The Healthcare Camp was highly appreciated by every person. The people from society were highly thankful to team IPGA for this great event. We were able to get most of the tests / activities sponsored. Venue by IPEX Vaish Samaj & Agrasen Society, PFT (Spirometry) by Respira division of Lupin Ltd, BMD by Biorex Healthcare, BMI & Blood Pressure by Omeran & KR Mangalam. Team IPGA were able to get Rs29000/- as sponsorship also. I take this opportunity on behalf of Pharmacy Practice division of IPGA to thank every person who has contributed to make this event a grand success. We are highly thankful to Dr. Ashok Grover, who has agreed to our request to spare his valuable time from his busy schedule to deliver a highly informative lecture on the subject. Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association organized it s31st Annual conference themed on “The Strategic Direction For Competent Pharma Graduates’- A Road Map” in collaboration with Rameshwaram Institute of Technology and Management, Lucknow on 30th April, 2017 at the auditorium of CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. The conference aimed for a major social cause. Discussions regarding promotion of health care by improvement of pharmacy practices and current challenges in health care education system were taken place. Various dignitaries from the field of Education/Academics, Drug Authority/Regulators, Research and Industry marked the occasion with their esteemed presence. The conference was inaugurated by the chief guests Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak (Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.P.J Abdul KalamTechnical University), and the guest of Honour were Padam Shri Dr. Nitya Anand, Ex-Director, CSIR-CDRI and Dr. G N Singh, (Drug Controller General of India). The scientific program was followed by scientific sessions which includes lectures by Mr. P.K. Jaggi, Chief Pharmacy Executive, Delhi State Cancer Institute; Mr. P.P.Sharma, Former Dy. Drugs Controller, Delhi Govt; Mr. A.K. Malhotra, Ex Drug Licensing & Controlling Authority, U.P.; Dr. A.K. Gupta, Managing Director, M/S Pharmasynth Formulation Ltd.Dr. Nitya Anand in his lecture focused on the different perspective of pharmacy education and their scope in various sectors of pharmacy field. All the invited speakers through their lecture provided guidance and a roadmap to the young pharmacy graduates to achieve success in their carrier. Young researchers and the pharmacy students were given opportunity to display their research activities through a poster session. During open panel discussion between IPGA members and the students, topics regarding job opportunities, pharmacy education system were discussed. The program was concluded with the valedictory function and distribution of certificates to the participants. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Pushpendra Kumar Tripathi, Organizing secretary and President of IPGA-UP and Mr. R.P Shukla, Chairman, RGI.

On Saturday April 22nd 2017, SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, organized first National Conference on Pharmacy Practice on the theme “Responsible Use of Medicines “for the pharmacy Students. The Conference was sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Directorate of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and partially by Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA). It Practice” Clinical Pharmacy, Industry, Research, Academics, Regulatory and other sectors of Pharmacy profession. Dr. Vijay Bhalla, Director Professor SGT College of Pharmacy practice, sponsored by IPGA welfare trust. The renowned speakers Mr. Atul Nasa in his Keynote address highlighted some of the burning issues like Drug abuse by students, Life style disorder like Hypertension, Diabetes & Obesity. Prof. Pramil Tiwari highlighted the role of Pharmacist in the Community perspective on the usage of Medicines with utmost care and cautions to enhance patient safety. Mr. Pawan Kumar Jaggi, deliberated on Prevention of Microbial Resistance to Antibiotics. He also informed about regulatory aspects and WHO concern on the issues. Dr. Rishi Kumar, informed the August gathering about the various Pharmacovigilance aspects and reporting methods for the benefits of the participants. He showed a very emotional video clip on Thalidomide tragedy. The main attraction of the event was participation of 365 delegates from 20 different Pharmacy Institutions from all over the country and 55 poster presentations. In the last the winners of the poster presentation competition were announced and felicitated by the jury. The winner of the poster presentation competition was Ms Nazia siddhiqui student of Masters from NIPER, Mohali.

School of Pharmaceutical Management, The IIHMR University in association with the Indian Pharmaceutical Graduate Associate (IPGA) conducted one day conference with the title of Pharma summit 2017 on Saturday, 25 Feb 2017 with the theme of Emerging Careers in Pharmaceutical Industry emphasizing on Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, and Data Management at The IIHMR University, Jaipur. The IPGA team from Central and Rajasthan Branch coordinated well to give the momentum to the Pharma Summit 2017 and succeed to got more than 600 participants. The objective of the event to make aware students about the career perspectives in these emerging areas.More than 600 students, principals, and faculty members of 30 different pharmacy colleges across the Rajasthan and other vicinity areas like UP, MP, Delhi, Hariyana attended the conference and got benefitted with the intention good career option selection in clinical research, pharmacovigilance and data management.
