The IPGA Women Forum, Haryana State Branch, in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy, held another session of the "EmpowerHer Health Lecture Series: 2K24" on August 25, 2024. This session, titled "Overview of Respiratory Diseases in Women," took place from 11 AM to 12 PM and was streamed live on the IPGA Women Forum's YouTube channel. Dr. Priya Sharma, a Consultant Pulmonologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi, was the keynote speaker. She provided an in-depth analysis of respiratory diseases that predominantly affect women, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer. Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, proper treatment, and lifestyle changes to manage these conditions effectively. Her talk was both enlightening and practical, offering valuable insights into women's respiratory health. Dr. Manju Singh, Chairperson of the IPGA Women Forum, welcomed all the participants and highlighted the importance of this lecture series in raising awareness about critical health issues faced by women. Dr. Vandana Garg, Co-Chairperson, further discussed the objectives and impact of the ongoing series. The event concluded with Dr. Geeta Deswal, Coordinator of the IPGA WF Haryana State Branch, presenting the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker, attendees, and organizers. Dr. Mohd Luqman, Assistant Professor at AIIMS Bathinda, Punjab, delivered an insightful keynote address on the increasing prevalence of cancer among Indian women. He highlighted the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and awareness of risk factors, particularly for breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers, to enhance survival rates. Dr. Geeta Deswal, Coordinator of the IPGA WF Haryana State Branch, welcomed all participants, setting a positive tone for the event. Dr. Manju Singh, Chairperson of the IPGA Women Forum, discussed the significance of the lecture series in promoting women's health education.
