Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association organized it s31st Annual conference themed on “The Strategic Direction For Competent Pharma Graduates’- A Road Map” in collaboration with Rameshwaram Institute of Technology and Management, Lucknow on 30th April, 2017 at the auditorium of CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. The conference aimed for a major social cause. Discussions regarding promotion of health care by improvement of pharmacy practices and current challenges in health care education system were taken place. Various dignitaries from the field of Education/Academics, Drug Authority/Regulators, Research and Industry marked the occasion with their esteemed presence. The conference was inaugurated by the chief guests Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak (Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.P.J Abdul KalamTechnical University), and the guest of Honour were Padam Shri Dr. Nitya Anand, Ex-Director, CSIR-CDRI and Dr. G N Singh, (Drug Controller General of India). The scientific program was followed by scientific sessions which includes lectures by Mr. P.K. Jaggi, Chief Pharmacy Executive, Delhi State Cancer Institute; Mr. P.P.Sharma, Former Dy. Drugs Controller, Delhi Govt; Mr. A.K. Malhotra, Ex Drug Licensing & Controlling Authority, U.P.; Dr. A.K. Gupta, Managing Director, M/S Pharmasynth Formulation Ltd.Dr. Nitya Anand in his lecture focused on the different perspective of pharmacy education and their scope in various sectors of pharmacy field. All the invited speakers through their lecture provided guidance and a roadmap to the young pharmacy graduates to achieve success in their carrier. Young researchers and the pharmacy students were given opportunity to display their research activities through a poster session. During open panel discussion between IPGA members and the students, topics regarding job opportunities, pharmacy education system were discussed. The program was concluded with the valedictory function and distribution of certificates to the participants. A national conference was held at Glocal University, Distt. Saharanpur on 19th Nov., 2016 on the topic "Issues and Challenges Being Faced by Pharma Profession". It was organized jointly by Glocal School of Pharmacy and IPGA Uttarakhand State Branch. Around 200 delegates drawn from various institutes imparting pharmacy education vizGlucal School of Pharmacy. Taramati Institute of Pharamceutical Research and Institute, Roorkee, GyaniInder Singh Institute of Pharmacy, Dehradun, Deptt. of Pharmacy, Kumaun University, Bhimtal, Guru Ram Rai Institute of Pharmacy, Dehradun, Himachal College of Pharmacy, Paunta Sahib etc. participated in the same. A few delegates drawn from the Pharma Industry were also present. IPGA Uttarakhand State Branch was represented by Shri G.S. Bedi, President, IPGA Uttarakhand State Branch and Shri Pankaj Sharma, Vice President, and Dr.KumudUpadhyay, Treasurer. From IPGA Central Executive Council (CEC) Shri BhanuDua and Shri PP Sharma, also attended and graced the occasion. Dr. Farooq, President Himalayan Drug Company was the Chief Guest. The Glocul University was represented by Mr. Abdul Wajid, Pro Chancellor, Dr. B.L. Raina, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsh, Additional Pro Chancellor, Dr.Pandurangan, Dean and Dr.Wasiyullah.
Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25th September every year in India with a view to make the public and healthcare professionals aware that pharmacists are an important part of the healthcare team. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) released one poster on the theme, Pharmacist: Caring for you, to boost the morale of registered pharmacists / student pharmacists and in recognizing pharmacy profession in the society. Pharmacists represent the third largest healthcare professional group in the world and in India there are around 10 lakh registered pharmacists working in various positions, applying their unique knowledge and skills, contributing to the health of the nation. Since many pharmacists work silently behind the scenes, this day will definitely act as a boost for their morale. We at SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, Gurgaon, celebrated National Pharmacist Day by organizing a Preliminary Health Screening Camp for all the students, Staff and Faculty members.
A two day International Conference on Nurturing Global Healthcare was organized by Amity Institute of Pharmacy in technical collaboration with National Coordination Centre Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission MoH&FW, Government of India, Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association,Indian Pharmaceutical Association-UP Branch, Society of Pharmaceutical Education& Research, HealthCare Division of Vardaan Welfare Society at Amity University, Noida on 11th& 12th of March, 2016. The theme of the Conference was “Building up Sci-Tech Pharmacist of Today”. Hon'ble Guest of Honor Mr. GulshanVirmani (Addl. Secretary, Hon'ble Minister, DST) in his address described the importance of tuning up Pharmacy and other related curricula as per current needs of the Healthcare System. Hon'ble SpeakerDr.BikashMedhi (PGIMER, Chandigarh) read key note address on the Theme and described different aspects of the PvPI and role of the Pharmacists in it. The Souvenir & Scientific Abstract book was released by dignitaries chaired on the dais: Dr.WSelvamurthy (President ASTIF, Amity University), Dr. B C Das ( Chiarman, AIMMSCR, Amity University), Mr. S L Nasa (Registrar, Delhi Pharmacy Council), Dr.Harpal S Buttar (University of Ottawa, Canada), Mr. GulshanVirmani accompanied with Chairman LOC Dr.TanveerNaved (Principal, Amity Institute of Pharmacy). The scientific sessions were presided over by Co-chairman Prof. G T Kulkarni and Convener Dr.UpendraNagaich. Eminent speakers Dr.Harpal S Buttar, Dr.PradeepVisen (University of Toronto, Canada),Dr.Sukhwinder Bhullar (Bursa Technical University,Turkey), Dr.BikashMedhi, Dr. V Kalaiselvan (Pr. Scientific Officer, NCC,REPORT:“International Conference on Nurturing Global Healthcare (ICNGH-2016)”PvPI), Dr.HarvinderPopli (Director, Corp. Development, Ranbaxy Lab. Ltd) and Mr. Atul Nasa (President, IPGA)delivered lectures in two day Conference.
