IPGA sponsored National Conference on “Online Pharmacy: Regulatory Perspectives” which is held at School of Medical & Allied Sciences, K. R. MangalamUniversity, Gurugram, INDIA on March 1, 2019.

School of Medical and Allied Sciences, KR Mangalam University has organized a nationalconference on the theme ‘Online Pharmacy: Regulatory Perspectives’ on 01 st March, 2019.Recently, Online Pharmacy came as a boon where various companies have emerged likePharmeasy, 1mg etc. So, the current conference was aimed to discuss the pros and cons ofOnline Pharmacy as well as involvement and say of the regulatories bodies towards this e-pharmacy .Around 700 delegates from 17 different institutions of 7 states had registered in thenational conference under supervision of Mr. Sunil Kumar & Mr.Sanjeev Kumar. The inauguration function started with the saraswativandana followed by lamp lighteningceremony by Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Malik, Honorable Vice Chancellor K. R. Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Malik, Honorable Vice Chancellor, K. R. Mangalam University and Prof.(Dr.)ArunGarg, Dean, K. R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon in their welcome address emphasizedthe objective of seminar and sparkled the program by the warm welcome to all thedignitaries. In their welcome address Sh. AtulNasa and Prof.(Dr.) Harpalsinghbhutterdiscussed on the present scenario of online pharmacy and their scope and various Jobopportunities in Pharma field. Sh. AtulNasa further stressed on the fact that even if weproperly follow the rules and regulations of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, then both offline andonline pharmacy can serve the purpose. Importance and necessity of Bills/Cash Memo wasalso discussed by Sh. Nasa. Mr. Dinesh Madan has discussed about the role of authorizedperson in e-prescription and Sh. Neeraj Pant discussed on the various Job opportunities inPharma field. Dr.Varun Gupta discussed how they have reached to the development ofhuman assisted artificial program for reading the prescription. The Scientific Abstract CDwas released by Guest of Honor and other dignitaries. The inaugural session was followed by scientific session and a parallel poster session wasalso conducted where the scientific work was presented by delegates and evaluated bysubject experts. The seminar ended with felicitation to student for best poster andevaluators during the valedictory function. Around 700 delegates from 17 different institutions of 7 states had participated in thenational conference. Around 150 scientific poster presentations were there. The seminarproceedings will help pharmacy professionals’, students and pharmacy business promotersthrough the experiences shared by prominent experts from Regulatory agencies, e-pharmacy and renowned hospital pharmacy.Prof.(Dr.) SaahilArora, School of Medical & Allied Sciences, Gurgaon purposed vote of thankto Guest of honors, all special invitees and delegates for their sincere participation andguidance. He also thanked the staff members, student volunteers and media.Event was concluded by national Anthem.

70th IPC Paved to Harmonize Pharma Industry, Academia and Regulatory Bodies

The 70th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) was held at Amity University, Noida,organised by the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA), a federation of fiveprofessional pharmaceutical bodies, and hosted by the Indian Pharmacy Graduates’Association (IPGA) from 21 st – 23 rd December, 2018. 70 th IPC saw industry veterans andthought leaders discuss and deliberate on the challenges and solutions in the road to achievePharma Vision 2030. The event saw a gathering of more than 6,000 delegates from all thesections of the pharma fraternity, with participation from around 100 national and 25international speakers including top icons of the Pharma Industry. 70 th IPC was inaugurated by the honourable Vice-President of India, Shri M VenkaiahNaidualong with DilipShanghvi, President of 70th IPC and Managing Director, Sun Pharma; B.R.Sikri, Chairman – LOC, 70th IPC and Managing Director, ABS Mercantile; AtulNasa, Organising Secretary, LOC of 70th IPC and Head of Office/Controlling Authority, DrugsControl Department, Delhi; Dr Ashok Chauhan, Chief Patron 70 th IPC, Founder President,Amity Universities & Institutions; T.V. Narayana; S.L. Nasa; Ravi UdaiBhaskar, Dr.ArunGarg (Chairman, Scientific Committee-LOC); and Pawan Kumar Jaggi, Former AssistantDrugs Controller and other dignitaries were present. Sh. M. Venkaiah Naidu praised the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry for all its achievementsover the past decades to make medicines more affordable globally, making special mention ofantiretrovirals for HIV/AIDS. He listed the initiatives taken by the government of India tosupport the Indian pharma industry as well as price control through NPPA keeping the needsof patients in mind. He exhorted the industry to keep an unwavering focus on drug qualityand good manufacturing practices. He earned a resounding round of applause from thedelegates when he said, “Regulations should not become strangulation.” In his address,Shanghvi deliberated the Presidential Address on the theme ‘Indian Pharma Industry: AGlobal Leader’ and expressed his thoughts how Indian Pharmaceutical Industry can furtherimprove to be a Global Leader.

Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA) sponsored Celebration of World Pharmacist Day, organized by IPGA STUDENT FORUM.

The World Pharmacist Day for the year 2018 on the theme of “Pharmacists are your Medicine Experts” was celebrated in collaboration with DPSR University on 25th September’18.

32nd Annual Conference of Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association

Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association organized its 32nd Annual Conference themed “Pharma Vision 2030 – Aiming Graduate Pharmacists with enhanced Pharmacy Practice Skills” at Alwar Pharmacy College, Alwar on 24th February 2018. The conference aimed to meet the challenges in Pharmacy Education and the students trained with attributes that include critical thinking, communication skills, digital adaption & global understanding. The initial discussion of conference was to make future graduate Pharmacists with enhanced Pharmacy Practice Skills and knowledge.
