Indian Pharmaceutical Graduates’Association (IPGA) sponsored National seminar on “Current status of Regulatory Affairs”, World Pharmacists Day celebration and Mega Pharma Job Fair was organized on 24th and 25th September 2016 at Bhupal Nobles College of Pharmacy, Bhupal Nobles’ University, Udaipur. The seminar was attended by approximately 982 delegates including students and faculty members from all over the country. The delegates came from all parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, M.P., U.P., Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, UK, CS, and Himachal Pradesh. The scientific committee received more than 125 abstracts for poster presentation. The honourable dignitaries in inaugural function of the seminar were Mr.Atul K. Nasa, President of IPGA, Mr. S.L. Nasa, Registrar, Delhi Pharmacy Council, Dr. Vijay Bhalla, Treasurer IPGA, Mr. Murraya Woods from Australia, Dr.Niranjan Narayan Singh Rathore, Registrar, Bhupal Nobles’ University, Udaipur Dr. Rajesh Yadav, Assistant Registrar, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, Dr. Arun Garg, Mr. P.K.Jaggi, Mr.BharatBhushan, Mr. BhanuDua, Principals of various colleges, delegates and various guests. Under the able leadership of Dr. M S Ranawat& Dr Yuvraj, a press conference was held where the reporters from various newspapers were informed about the objective of two days seminar, World Pharmacist Day celebration and mega Pharma job fair. The scientific deliberations included the lecture by Mr P K Jaggi, on Anti Microbial resistance, by Professor (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, on “Medication errors and patients safety”and by Mrs. Surbhi Sharma on “The interface of patents with the regulatory drug approval process and its impact: US scenario”. In the evening poster session was inaugurated by Dr. S.L. Nasa in presence of honourable Vice Chancellor of Bhupal Nobles University Udaipur, On 25th September, World Pharmacists Day was celebrated, where 800 pharmacists from various part of Mewar (Banswara, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Bhilwara, and Udaipur) gathered to witness the event. During this, felicitation of senior most pharmacists namelyMr. S.L. Nasa, Shri Lajpat Rai and Mr. S. K. Sharma was the attraction of the event. The winners of poster session were given away with prizes. All the pharmacists collectively took The Pharmacists Oath. A Mega Job Fair was organized in the campus of Bhupal Nobles’ University, where 28 reputed Pharmaceutical companies participated to recruit dynamic and talented pharma graduates and post graduates hailing from various part of the country.
Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25th September every year in India with a view to make the public and healthcare professionals aware that pharmacists are an important part of the healthcare team. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) released one poster on the theme, Pharmacist: Caring for you, to boost the morale of registered pharmacists / student pharmacists and in recognizing pharmacy profession in the society. Pharmacists represent the third largest healthcare professional group in the world and in India there are around 10 lakh registered pharmacists working in various positions, applying their unique knowledge and skills, contributing to the health of the nation. Since many pharmacists work silently behind the scenes, this day will definitely act as a boost for their morale. We at SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University, Gurgaon, celebrated National Pharmacist Day by organizing a Preliminary Health Screening Camp for all the students, Staff and Faculty members.

Singh, Drugs Controller (General) of India by Lighting the Lamp. President IPGA Bihar State Branch Sri Binod Kumar, welcome the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, President IPGA Sri Atul Nasa, all the CEC members, Office bearers of IPGA Bengal Branch, IPGA Jharkhand Branch, Other guests, Pharmacy Students and Delegates attending the conferencde. He emphasized the need to double the posts of Pharmacists in the State and tomake the post of Pharmacist Gazetted one so that the ailing people may get better & proper health Care services and the Pharmacists may be made responsible. General Secretary, IPGA Bihar State Branch, Sri S. P. Singh in his introductory speech welcome the guests and said t h at P h a r m a co v i g i l e n c e , A D R reporting, Medical Writing and Pharmacy practice (Pharmacy Practice Regulations – 2015) are some of the emerging New Horizons in Pharma Sector which are giving good job opportunities to the Pharmacy Graduates coming out of the institutions. Students should make themselves capable to grab the opportunities. Sri Singh requested the Chief Guest Sri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary sir to help the pharmacy Graduates and the Pharmacists by considering the demands of IPGA Bihar State Branch regarding (i) Strengthening of the Government Drug Testing Lab by appointing Govt. Analyst and 12 assistant Analysts. Pharmacy students may also be allowed to get training here. The govt. Drug Testing Labs should be at all the Divisional H.Q. (ii) Cadre rule must be implemented soon in practice in DCA, Long time pending promotions should be given and all the vacant posts of drug Inspectors should be done for effective implementation of Drug & Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules 1945 and any violation may be checked. (iii) Keeping in view the huge increase in no. of patients, the number of posts of Pharmacists may be increased to double and Pharmacists may be posted at even additional & sub PHCs. (iv) M. Pharm. & Pharm. D. Courses should be started at GPI and the PCI approval of Department of Pharmacy, MIT Muzaffarpur must be restored. (v) Pharmaceutical Industries should be included in the “THRUST AREA” of Industrial Policy of Bihar Govt. and all the listed incentives should be given so that new Pharma Industries may come in the State. On Saturday April 9th 2016, Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association (IPGA) in association with School of Pharmacy, Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology, organized first ever MEGA PHARMA JOB FEST 2016 on Career Opportunities for the B. Pharm., M. Pharm., Pharm D., Diploma in Pharmacy and PhD Students from all over the country gathered and tried their luck for best job. Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association is national level association of Indian Pharmacy Graduates. This was an innovative concept to organize the “PHARMA JOB FEST 2016” which will bring together the employers in pharma industry and connect them with a wide range of talent available among students of this lucrative profession. It will be a great opportunity for the students of various pharma institutions to be face-to-face with bigwigs of the industry. The areas of interest could be Manufacturing & Production, Quality Control & Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Sales & Marketing, Hospital Pharmacists or any other suitable position in Drugs &Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, MedicalDevices and FMCG segments. Mr.Singh also insisted that such activities are very necessary and important intoday context for making students aware about the current expectations of industries from the aspirants. Mr Atul Nasa interacted with students and informed about the various career opportunities availablein Pharma regulatory affairs and also briefed the students about importance of joining professional Associations and participation in mega event like this. Mr. S.L. Nasa also congratulated the institute for maintaining such high standards of teachingin the Department of Pharmacy. He told the audience about the various initiatives that he, as the registrar of the Delhi Pharmacy Council had undertaken for the upliftment of the pharmacy profession. In the end, Dr Vijay Bhalla thanked the guests and the entire team of Lloyd for making the event successful.
