Indian pharmacy graduate association has organized a National Conference on Recent Advances in Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciencesin association with Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Rishikesh at IDPL Guest House on5th December 2015. On this occasion approximately 70 delegates including educationists, scientists, and studentswere gathered from different places and presented their research work.
Dr. G N Singh, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has called upon the pharma industry to take advantage of the opportunities being created by the Government through the scheme of ‘Make in India’, by investing in making medical devices indigenously. At present there is big & growing market for medical devices in India but it is importing about 90 % of its consumption of medical devices. After taking a significant lead world over in the production of medicines, now there is a big opportunity for the pharma sector to make medical devices not only for our consumption but to look for export as well so that India can dominate in this field as well, he added. Dr. G N Singh was inaugurating the 30th Annual Conference of Indian Pharmacy Gradates’ Association on 31st October, 2015 at New Delhi. He further stated that India, at present, is at 4th position by volume and at 9th place by value of the total sales of medicines of the world. India is producing medicines worth about fifteen thousand crores of rupees by over eight thousands pharmaceutical plants and is exporting to more than 210 countries. India is are the largest producer and exporters of vaccines. India is supplying vaccines to WHO also for their vaccination programs in developing countries.
IPGA Welfare Trust sponsored three trustees, Dr. Arun Garg, Shri P.P.Sharma, Shri S.L.Nasa to attend 75th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2015 scheduled to be held at Dusseldorf (Germany) from September, 29 to Oct., 03, 2015. All the three trustees left Delhi on 27.09.2015 by air and reached Dusseldorf, Germany on 28.09.2015. The host association of FIP Congress, The Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists (ABDA) arranged the logistics at the Congress Centre Dusseldorf (CCD), Dusseldorf. The Congress events started with opening ceremony on 29.09.2015 at 3.00 pm at Stadthalle Hall of CCD.
Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA) Haryana State Branch sponsored One Day National Seminar was held at Ch. Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana on 28th August, 2015. The use of antibiotics is increasing in the health sector but most of the persons, including many from the medicine field itself are ignorant about the side-effects of over-use of the antibiotics. To generate awareness on this issue, a one day National Seminar on the topic “Rational Use of Antibiotics- Role of Pharmacists” was organized by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ch. Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani on Friday.
An IPGA sponsored National Seminar on, ‘Remodelling the Pharmacy Education in India”was organized at Jaipur College of Pharmacy, Jaipur on April 11th, 2015. The main objective of the seminar was to discuss about the possibilities that can be made to upgrade the status of pharmacy education in India. About 750 delegates including teachers, research scholars, pharmacy professionals from Pharma industries and Drug control department and students of various pharmacy colleges, throughout the country participated in the seminar.
